Graf Leopold Daun commanded the Austrian army, with a contingent of cavalry from Saxony: 53,790 men (51 bns, 43 grenadier coys, 158 sqns) and 162 guns in total. King of Prussia Frederick II the Great commanded the Prussian army: 34,000 men (33 bns, 116 sqns) and 94 guns.
