Bleeding Kansasis a 2-player game portraying the politicsand violence in pre-statehood Kansas. The Kansas-NebraskaAct of 1854 gave new territories the right to popularsovereignty, allowing Residents to choose whether or notto allow slavery. Within months the stream of Settlers toKansas was swelled by parties of sponsored abolitionistsand pro-slavers, all more intent on fighting one anotherthan building a new State. Bushwhacks and gun battlespunctuated maneuvers by rival legislatures elected throughmassive fraud. It would not die out entirely until statehood inJanuary 1861. The new state’s senators swung the US Senateirretrievably against the South, ensuring the continuation ofsecession started by the election of Abraham Lincoln.
